Semen Leakage/Jiryan

What is Semen Leakage?

Semen Leakage

Before starting with semen leakage we need to know, what semen is.

Semen in Urdu known as”مذی”, is the whitish fluid that comes out from the penis during arousal or sexual thoughts, and activity, specifically during ejaculation. It is a viscous, sticky, and somewhat whitish fluid that contains sperm cells and various other components.

Semen is produced in the male reproductive system, primarily in the seminal vesicles. The primary function of semen is to transport sperm into the female reproductive system during sexual intercourse, increasing the chances of fertilizing an egg and initiating pregnancy.

Semen leakage which is also known as Dropping, and in Urdu known as “Jiryaan/جریان”, is a frequent occurrence during sexual stimulation. Before or after sexual activity, it is pretty common for a small amount of semen to leak from the penis; however, there are certain conditions in which semen leaks from the penis, in which case you should consult your health care provider or a sexologist.

Semen dropping and other sexual problems could be discussed with our professional Sexologist.

Question) Does the leaking of semen cause early ejaculation?
Answer) Premature ejaculation and semen leaks are ejaculatory problems. They are two separate disorders with unique root causes. Premature ejaculation is not directly caused by semen leaking. Premature ejaculation is when a male partner cannot delay ejaculation during sexual activity. On the other hand, semen leakage refers to the unintended release of semen without orgasm or ejaculation during sexual activity.

Semen Ejaculation Process:

When a male is sexually stimulated, increased blood flow to the penis helps him to get an erection. Sexual tension is continually increased by sexual stimulation, whether physical touch or mental excitation. The body eventually starts to experience orgasms when the intensity of sexual stimulation reaches a certain threshold. The pelvic muscles, especially those surrounding the reproductive organs, rhythmically contract during an orgasm. These contractions cause the ejaculatory ducts and urethra to open, releasing semen from the testes and other accessory glands.

Conditions in which Semen released:

Semen leakage can have different causes, some common causes include:

  • Nocturnal Emissions. (Nightfall/wet dream).
  • Prostate infections.
  • Due to Stress.
  • Increased sensitivity
  • Parasitic infection.
  • Sexual arousal (porn, thoughts, intimacy).
  • Medications side effects.

Does leaking semen cause infertility?

No, semen leaking by itself usually does not cause infertility. The term “infertility” describes the inability to produce a baby while having regular, unprotected sexual contact for at least 2 years. Usually, sperm quality, quantity, or reproductive system-related issues are to blame not the pre-cum fluid.

Risk Factors:

Some potential risk factors that could be associated with excessive semen leakage:

  • Psychological distress.
  • Female interaction jobs (cloth centers, cosmetics, shoe stores)
  • Relationship difficulty.
  • Disruption of daily activities

Treatment Options

The course of treatment depends on the cause of the semen leakage. To identify the best treatment option in your case, it is essential to consult with a sexologist.
Here are some therapy alternatives to think about:

  • Lifestyle modification: Sometimes, lifestyle changes can help manage semen leakage.
  • Behavioral Therapy: Psychological factors such as performance anxiety can contribute to semen leakage. Behavioral therapy techniques may be recommended to address these underlying issues and help to manage the condition.
  • Medication: Depending on the cause of semen leakage, specific medication may be prescribed.

Here are some situations in which consulting a sexologist may be beneficial:

  • Excessive semen leakage.
  • Pain during urination or ejaculation.
  • Changes in Sexual Functions.
  • Smelly or Bloody Semen.

A sexologist or a doctor with sexual health knowledge may evaluate your individual condition, provide an accurate diagnosis, and recommend appropriate treatment options. They can also advise you on how to manage any underlying issues that may be causing the semen leakage.
